NURIA MORA, YARI MIELE
Rèspiracion, Libera dimensione. Salone del Mobile 2025

Provasi Luxury Furniture_Via Borgonuovo, 1. Milano
7.04.2025 – 14.04.2025

Once again, inside the prestigious Milanese quadrilateral, Provasi returns to the Fuorisalone with the last chapter of the trilogy dedicated to the pillars of his creative narration. After “The game”, “The time” this will be the year of “The show”: an anti-minimalist, graceful and intriguing representation, which reveals furnishing scenarios in which to immerse oneself. The installation includes a path through three different rooms, each characterized by a protagonist element that defines the atmosphere: a precious French-inspired boiserie with sophisticated carvings that play with the velvet silhouettes; a black and white carousel with its circular sofas and a Louis XV-style daybed wrapped in the vibrant depth of the Marrakesh blue redefined by the artist Yari Miele. The itinerary ends with a corner dedicated to the outdoors, a small oasis of tranquility that welcomes and invites you to relax between aesthetic research and comfort. The exterior, after the success of the previous edition, leaves space for the Madrid artist Nuria Mora with her monumental installation entitled Rèspiration.

Nuria Mora was born in Madrid in 1974, where she lives and works. The artist began her career in the late 90s. A female pioneer of street art and mural painting, she soon distinguished herself for her furtive interventions, ranging between different media and multiple surfaces. Painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, installation, light and sound. She studied Interior Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University, also in the Spanish capital. The pictorial signs in the many cities around the world are solemn and recognizable. Geometric abstraction takes shape in public spaces, galleries and private homes. Nuria Mora, through her plastic language, speaks of memory, builds and recomposes memories, traces personal cartographies of travels and experiences. Rèspiration, curated by Martina Corbetta, is an installation intervention, twin of a previous creation exhibited for the Paxos Biennial, an event that aims to support artists by offering them a unique environment to express themselves. Nuria Mora proposes, for the Salone del Mobile 2025, a site-specific work that arises from the same attention to the environment, which in this case is represented by a developing city that welcomes art-design-innovation and designates itself as the world’s center of gravity. In its form, the installation is made up of 25 km of colored ribbons – in double satin and organza – that are cut and installed, first on an aluminum net and then on the facade of a building. An elegant building that becomes a sculpture. In the first version of the installation, movement is the foundation. Underwater and interior movement. Movement of algae as a metaphor for life. Here and now, the oceanic poseideonia, lung of the sea, is a tribute to oxygenation, breathing and its poetic interpretations. Translated into the metropolitan context, it is an invitation to quiet and meditation. To the need to observe and look, to take time to think.

Yari Miele was born in Cantù (Como) in 1977. He graduated in painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 2003. A fundamental element in Yari Miele’s work is light. His research is presented through an investigation into the experience of vision, in particular it focuses on the collection and return of brightness. The artist starts from a reflection on sight and vision, he questions logic and, conversely, also on everything that is not physical: figurative and interior. On and off, as inside and outside, as a relationship of observation towards all interrelational connotations. The investigation focuses its attention on space as a physical place, as a place that becomes drawing-painting-sculpture through the projection of light and its negation. In empty space, light is suspended and reality changes. Libera dimensione is the title of the installation created by Yari Miele specifically for Provasi. An immersive room that captures and confuses, that returns an extraordinary and exceptional imagery, unexpected compared to the classic line of the company. A room, which through the use of wood lamps, transforms into a purple-blue space thus defining a new dimension, energetic and reinforcing. In the visual field fluorescent threads, nothing but simple white cotton and nylon threads, cross the space, cut it, invade it like an unexpected luminescent energy source. A third dimension becomes palpable. The geometric lines, severe and angular, are here a design in space.
